So at my plant, we always have issues with static discharge tripping safety modules during winters. We’re working in a cold/dry environment and use film rolls. I think we are getting some static bars and have used them in the past. Was wondering what other solutions you’ve tried and what seemed to work best.

I work at a cannery so the static becomes a problem with us as well. The static bars are probably a good solution. We tend to have problems with our labeling centers. The cans are conveyed on plastic belts but somehow the cans gain the static charge. For a quick solution, we took wire we use to ground welders to discharge the static charge. I think this wire is #4 AWG finely stranded MTW. On a single filing point we cut a small amount of insulation away to create a brush affect on top of the cans. Then the other end we connected it to a grounding point.

Static electricity what it is how to control remove eliminate static shock (electrostatics.com) has some passive solutions that may work (induction and grounding using tinsel, etc.), but the standard method in packaging has always been anti-static bars/ionizers.
